Bow for your master

His majesty the president of Europe, supreme chancellor, primus inter pares, your lord and master, veteran of the Belgian Bureaucracy: Herman van Rompuy.

Vlaams Doping Tribunaal is completely out of bounds

The following sporters are suspended for one year:

Yanina ‘whoopie’ Wickmayer

Xavier ‘X-man’ Malisse:

Bonsei ‘Sugar’ Jackson:

Did they test positive on a drug test? no.

Did they deliberately dodge a drug test? no.

Did they do anything to hinder the officials? no.

Why are they suspended? They couldn’t fill in their whereabouts three times this year because the system was down.

Even in the Sovjet-Union this would not have happened. The most bureaucratic country in the world is apparently Flanders. And I live there.

Perl wisdom

…of course, the actual government of any computer is run by that fascist dictator known as the operating system. But a wise dictator knows when to let the people think they´re capitalist – and when to let them think they´re communists. (on parallel processing)

…The crypt() function is unimplemented  due to excessive paranoia (error message you might get)

…strictly speaking this is not true (about truth)

…Sociology has to be good for something (on operators, aka relationships)

Behold the Evil Banker

Some of you might've noticed that I disappeared out of this blog for quiet some time (no, I'm not a very good blogger)
The more clever of them might've noticed that during the same period a little thing called 'financial crisis' happened. To them, it will come as no surprise that I've started working for a bank, KBC (all hail KBC and its CEO and all of its management, especially those who can give me a raise :p)

or as one shrimp used to say:
"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, "plate," or "shrimp," or "plate o' shrimp" out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconsciousness."

Euro 2008

"Soccer is a game with 22 people and in the end the Germans win"

wise words from Gary Linecker, and this year this will once again be proven true.

the belgians are not present, our team is crappy (well, that's not true, but the coach is and playing with 4 defensive mids, a keeper and 6 defenders gets you nowhere)
